Costco's HVAC contractor Grove Mechanical is at the top of their game. Our experience with Rob (owner) at Grove and his pro installation team was like an episode of This Old House. The project was explained in detail before-hand by a knowledgeable sales agent (Richard). The price was mid-market fair. On the day of the install, a pro crew including an HVAC technician, an electrician, and 2 sheet metal guys showed up on time. Clunking old stuff was replaced/upgraded with new, top-of-the-line Lennox gear in just over around 6 hours, and all the while the crew paid attention to the smallest detail on the installation and clean-up. As a bonus, we benefitted from a substantial Costco rebate, along with an excellent warrantee. Over the past week, we've enjoyed A/C on demand for the first time, as well as super-clean, purified air in our old east Van house. Thanks to Rob and the crew at Grove (Richard, Paul, James, Hitesh et al) for setting us up to live comfortably in a time of climate change.

Amazing experience from attendance for scoping and quoting to completion of the work. I applied for a heat pump with another contractor last year, but my application was denied due to insufficient answers to strata’s concerns. This time, Rob the owner helped me be the first of 134 units in my strata get approved for a heat pump installation by being a guest speaker at my strata council meeting to answer questions and concerns about proper permitting, electrical loads, noise, vibrations and envelope cuts. He even helped the strata develop a template for future heat pump applications to ensure that future installs - with any contractor - were done to a high quality standard. That is going above and beyond! After approval, he scheduled the work in the next week over 2 days. Crews (Shawn, Sean, Nitin and Hitesh, lead by the site PM Corey, were all knowledgeable, friendly and hardworking, and left site clean at the end of each day. I didn’t need to clean up after them despite them detaching 6 baseboard heaters, and making drywall cuts to facilitate the installation of 2 returns and 8 vents in order to properly circulate the air when the heat pump is in use. I had the unique ability to run ducting through my attic space, so they ducted the system through the attic space and avoid having to install those bulky wall mounted heads. I highly recommend this approach for a minimalist aesthetic. Rob has committed to helping me with getting the best available rebates through BC Hydro to soften the blow of the cost. The customer service exhibited by all parties at Grove was exemplary. Keep up the great work, Team Grove!
